Northside Line Urban Trail
Poughkeepsie, NY
HVEA provided the design and construction inspection services for this high-profile project located in the City and Town of Poughkeepsie. The goal of this project was to develop an urban shared-use facility that is desirable to all types of users, connect communities with the resources of the area, and provide the traveling public alternate means of transportation while balancing social, economic and environmental impacts.
This 2.7-mile trail network runs through the heart of Poughkeepsie along two spurs of the former CSX right-of-way. The segments begin north of Marist College at the proposed Hudson Heritage Development and one heads southwest to the Hudson River waterfront while the second spur heads southeast into the heart of the City of Poughkeepsie.
