HVEA provides a range of services including design and construction inspection of transportation infrastructure, consulting and construction material testing services.

We have exciting internship and co-op opportunities to support our Design group, based in our Beacon, NY office. As an HVEA intern or co-op student you will gain valuable professional experience and will be provided with hands on training to work in the design office and in the field under the supervision of Licensed Professional Engineers. You will be provided with meaningful assignments in the office, which will give you a sense of accomplishment, and real-life experiences in the field of Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist with the completion of design tasks in disciplines such as highway, structural, environmental, and geotechnical engineering.
• Assist with the completion of field investigation tasks for design projects.
• Provide assistance to other engineers as required.
• Daily communication with staff engineers, design engineers, and project managers.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related degree.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills to document daily activities.
• Capability of effectively working with project team members.
