About HVEA Engineering
HVEA specializes in the comprehensive design and construction inspection of transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Hudson Valley and NY Metropolitan area.
Initially, HVEA’s experience began in the locally administered federal aid sector and rapidly grew to includes roles on multi-million-dollar projects for the NYSDOT, NYSBA, NYSTA, MTA and Port Authority of NY & NJ as well as projects for numerous counties and municipalities throughout New York State.
A Professional Corporation and one of the largest DBE/WBE transportation firms in Dutchess County, HVEA has two fully staffed engineering offices in Beacon (Dutchess County) and Chestnut Ridge (Rockland County). Our offices house over 100 skilled employees specializing in highway design, bridge design, bridge inspection, traffic engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical, construction inspection and materials testing services.
HVEA has had the privilege of working on many high-profile regional projects including the $14M Urban Trail for the Dutchess County DPW, the first roundabout in Rockland County at Forshay Road for the Rockland County Highway Department, the renowned $3.9B Design-Build of the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge and the $134M Route 17 Interchange Reconstruction at Woodbury Commons for the NYSDOT.
HVEA is a certified DBE and a certified WBE by the New York State Economic Development, NYC Small Business Services and a WBE and SBE with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Meet Our Leadership Team
A leading transportation firm in the Hudson Valley, HVEA was formed in 2002 by three former NYSDOT Project Engineers, Mia K. Nadasky, John Balison and Brendan Fitzgerald. Today, our leadership team has grown to six Principal Engineers.
